    • Sentence: Jake’s incredulous smile hinted that he was lying about cleaning his room. On the other hand, his sister, Michelle stood tall and proud when asked if she cleaned her room earlier that morning.
    • Clue: In this sentence the words “on the other hand” and “stood tall and proud” tell us that Michelle feels the opposite of Jake.
    • Definition: Therefore, I can use my context clues to guess that incredulous means unbelieving or unconvinced.
