Tools of Engagement: Structuring a Media Rich Online Course (Lab)

Presenter: Michele Pickett, Cuyahoga Community College Rich media tools, thoughtful student interactions, and concept scaffolding underpin the successful use of technology in the online learning environment. Examples of these tools - avatars, narrated solved problems, digital storytelling, interactive online poster boards, YouTube and other instructional videos, remote polling - and how to properly incorporate them into any online course, whether it be fully online or blended will be presented. The session will include hands-on demonstrations and interactive questions and answers. Attendees will benefit because they will have an opportunity to see these tools in action and see how they can be taken back and incorporated into their own courses.
