    • Have you ever had a hard time trying to edit your image to you exact liking? Well look no further, there is an app that can assist an individual with helping them meet your editing needs. For this purpose of this presentation, there will be slides that can guide you with steps needed to edit photos. The steps presented will be limited but it is a start to a new skill.

    • Go to Pixlr.com
    • Click on the sign up free button in the upper right hand corner
    • A pop up screen should pop up
    • You can use personal email, Facebook account, or click on the more options and use those following choices
    • Chose a password of which you will remember
    • Once this is completed, the screen should go back to the webpage with your email account name in the top right hand corner

    • An alternative to signing up on the Pixlr.com site, you can download the app.

    • Click on the learn more button in the middle of the web page
    • Under the download button in the middle of the screen, click the options that would work best for your device. The choices were, Windows or Mac
    • Another screen should appear stating “Thank you for signing up”
    • If your download does not start automatically, click on the blue text that states, “click here”
    • Another box should pop up on the screen
    • Click on save files
    • Once you have gone through the steps of the installation, you should now have Pixlr upon your desktop

  10. The above images are two different versions of the Pixlr app.  The image on the left is the web based version and the one on the right is the downloadable version.  In this tutorial, I will teach you on the web based version.

    • Click the file button in the upper right hand corner
    • Select the option that best works for uploading an image
    • Select new image to start with a blank canvas
    • Select open image to chose a picture from your computer
    • Select open image URL to use an existing image on the internet.
    • Select the last option, open image library, if you have stored images in your Pixlr account
    • Navigate to the picture chosen from the above options and click open

    • To crop photo
    • Click on the crop tool located in the tool bar on the left hand side
    • The crop tool is the first one on the top left hand side of the tool bar
    • Crop the image of choice to your liking
    • Once cropping is complete, a box should appear asking yes, no or cancel to the crop image
    • To Add text
    • Click on the type tool located in at the bottom right hand side on the tool bar
    • Type a title for the photo that you have chosen
    • Click the OK button when you are satisfied with the text formatting

    • Click on the first action done in the box
    • Open image
    • To cut and copy
    • Click on the edit button
    • Located on the top left corner of the page
    • Click on the cut button to cut the image to your liking
    • Click on the copy button if there is something you would like to copy on the image

    • Chose the save function that you are comfortable with

    • Pixlr Editor is a free photo shop software that can help with transforming your photos
    • The tools bar on the left section of the screen has many functions and certain tools that help manipulate photos
    • The crop function places the photo at a level of which you are accustomed to. It also, helps spilt the photo in half or in thirds.
    • Pixlr is similar to photo shop
    • We will learn the other functions at a later time and date
    • The history function has the same power as the undo function has as well.
    • The text tool can be used to insert text to an image.

    • The photos needed are royalty free, copyright free or creative commons.
    • All accreditations of the photos go to the websites of which they were discovered under.
    • There will be no disrespectful imaging placed upon the PowerPoint or on assignments.
    • The appropriate language will be used
    • There will be no bullying of any type
