Using SAM Training to Improve MOS Certification Scores

Presenters: Mary Jo Geise & Helen Schneider, The University of Findlay In today's competitive world of increasingly lean workforces, certifications are becoming more important in distinguishing knowledgeable candidates who can minimize training costs and maximize productivity. Microsoft® Office Specialist (MOS) exams are certifications that verify a level of proficiency in the use of programs within the Microsoft® Office Suite. This session will discuss alternative strategies available to improve certification scores and increase the number of students passing the exam. Specific data will be shared on those strategies tried at UF and the impact they had on student scores. Current findings show that SAM Training designed on certification test objectives proved to be a cost-effective solution which provided significant increases in overall exam scores as well as the number of students passing the certification exam.
