SWChap11ChallengingtheLimits (5)

Class, this presentation, based on chapter 11 of our textbook, addresses some historical factors that impacted adult education and describes the impact of various subgroups (women; workers, especially factory workers and skilled laborers; African Americans, and Native Americans). In addition, the presentation also provides some current information regarding each of these groups, as well as some predictions based on current trends. As you study the presentation, and other course materials, analyze the similarities as well as differences between these various groups. By examining some of the needs of each group, examining solutions they saught to implement, and try to speculate regarding possible future needs and how formal or informal educational approaches might be helpful. I look forward to our discussions regarding this. Remember, you're destined for greatness. -- Dr. Simon Whittaker
